sometimes it’s really easy to put ourselves down, beat ourselves up and it can be a really scary thing to actually be real and honest about our ‘stuff’. The fear of being honest – of saying out loud our struggles and also what we’re proud of – can be powerful. We can spend so much time worrying about being rejected, judged or ignored.
We often get stuck in a vicious circle of obsessing over each imperfection and we will do whatever possible to hide them. But if nobody is perfect, why do we spend so much time and effort trying to appear perfect? Yoga teaches us that we are imperfectly perfect. Yoga is about acceptance of reality and real life isn’t perfect, let’s be honest – it is usually pretty messy! So why not take a moment to remember you are not broken. You don’t need “fixing”! We are all doing the very best we can, for ourselves, in life, at work, in our relationships.
So do something crazy today, and try some RADICAL self acceptance, for who you are and what you see in the mirror, love yourself today, and start to love your life!
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”— Rumi
