Teaching Vinyasa Yoga

 October 27, 2018 October 28, 2018   10.30am - 5.30pm  with Dawn Wright

Vinyasa YogaIt takes a skilled teacher to apply an array of teaching techniques that leaves students feeling inspired and open to new possibilities – not just in their body, but also in their life. Confidence is a huge component, and this comes from honing our teaching skills and techniques over time. This 2-day intensive will build and deepen the skills required to teach creative, inspiring, and safe vinyasa flow, and develop your own understanding and practice in this style. Each day will consist of a vinyasa practice, lectures and discussions around the fundamentals of vinyasa, teaching practice and exercises. There will be some “homework” overnight between the two days for teachers using this as a CPD.

During these two days we will be covering:

  • The use of voice in Vinyasa – Tone, pacing, use of words and direct instruction verses narrative instruction
  • Safe and creative Vinyasa Karma sequences, including the use of marker poses and peak poses
  • Pacing, Flow and Transitions
  • How to teach Vinyasa Flow to different levels of students
  • Assisting and adjusting within Vinyasa Flow
  • The layers that make a great Vinyasa Flow class

Who’s it for?
Yoga Teachers (qualified and currently in training) and experienced students who want to develop their own understanding and practice in this style.
