My favourite way to spend my free time is…

Being out and about. The enjoyment of experiencing the sight and sounds of nature in all its forms is fantastic.

The things I love most are…

All those that keep me on my toes; you know who you are.

Not to mention travelling and generally being busy.  The opportunity to explore other countries, and cultures, is something that we have been lucky enough to do in recent years; not forgetting the warmth of the sun, a sandy beach and the odd glass of local brew!

Cooking the odd curry as well.

The reason I first came to yoga is…

My wife, Angie, introduced me to yoga and after completing a beginner’s course I got the bug.  Two years later I’m still practising, learning and changing even more so since retiring in March 2016

The next step on my yoga journey is…

To try some variation of yoga styles, different teachers and build upon my favourite Yin yoga style. I may even experience a retreat.

The special quality I bring to Whitespace is…

A ‘can do’ attitude.  Helping to make the most of the wonderful environment within which Whitespace exists for all those wish to use it.

My favourite thing about working here is…

That fact that everyone has a passion, a story to tell and is accepted for who they are.

What’s your favourite pose and why?

Pigeon pose…. in fact any Yin pose.  Practising Yin I’ve rediscovered parts which I’d forgotten I had – ouch!

The biggest thing Yoga has taught you?

To chill out. The whole Yoga experience is one which has really changed me; reduced stress, relaxed attitude and a developing ‘what will be will be’ mentality.  Even my kids say I’ve changed (whatever that means).

A fun fact about me…

I used to be a qualified football referee……… and therefore sometimes ‘I don’t know what I’m doing’, as the chant (or mantra) goes
