Kelly – Yoga Teacher

Name…
Kelly Hopkinson

My style and approach to teaching yoga…
Since completing my Teacher Training at Whitespace, I truly believe that yoga is for everyone and is a way of living our lives. I love being at the very beginning of a person’s journey into yoga and sharing their experiences. Witnessing a new yogi grow in self-confidence and learn new skills constantly reminds me of why I decided to become a teacher.

My experience and training so far…
I fell for yoga in my 20’s whilst travelling to (mostly) beautiful places. Yoga became the consistent, reliable and honest practice that I still love today. It was always there for me. Three years ago, with my two young girls teaching me so much about life, love and what’s important, I answered a facebook advert about becoming a baby and children’s yoga teacher and this is where my love of yoga really started to grow. I wanted to learn more and more and to somehow filter this new knowledge and passion to as many people as I could possibly reach.

I’m enjoying every single experience that being a yoga teacher has offered me over the last few months. Completing my 200 hour teacher training in June this year, gave me time to reflect on the journey I had been on and how much I had grown and changed as a person in those 15 months. I am definitely not the person I was when I started the course – in the most positive of ways. I am writing this still in a bubble from Dawn’s Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training and I can’t wait to incorporate these beautiful classes into my life and the lives of Mummy’s to be. I’m also beyond excited to complete the Restorative Teacher training with Deborah.

The special quality I bring to Whitespace…
Honesty and an open heart.

My favourite thing about working at Whitespace…
The people and everything they bring to the studio.

A fun fact about me…
I’m training for my very first (and quite possibly, my very last) marathon in 32 weeks time!
