My style and approach to teaching…
I teach yoga because this practice transformed my life, and there are few things I enjoy more than sharing the tools that work for me. In my classes, expect an energising practice with an emphasis on being true to yourself and having fun (not frustration) on your mat. Some days we do a juicy flow with a little yin (a.k.a. yin-yasa) and some days we get super geeky with an anatomical focus and break it down in a bunch of static poses (posture lab).  For me, yoga is a path toward meditation – a beautiful way to train our intuition, replenish our creativity, and increase our joy. I enjoy teaching all levels – from complete beginners’ classes to seasoned yogis and teacher training – and I have plenty to offer everyone, regardless of age, size, gender, fitness, diet and lifestyle.

My experience and training so far…
I’ve been studying yoga for 20 years and teaching for over 12yrs – exploring, studying and embracing different traditions including alignment-based Dynamic Yoga, Iyenger, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Yin & Restorative, iRest Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness Meditation and Pranayama. Since becoming a teacher, I’ve continued to study with some of the most inspiring and experienced teachers from all over the world, spent time in Ashrams, taken silent retreats and immersed myself in this practice for which I’m hugely grateful. Each experience has been such an influence and key ingredient into the ‘soup-style’ which is now uniquely me, and I hope to continue to learn each and every day.
If certificates are important, I hold the highest standard of certification from Yoga Alliance (Senior Yoga Teacher) as well as the British Wheel Diploma & Foundation Course Tutor (FCT). I’m a Certified Mindfulness Teacher (MBSR/MBCT) with Bangor University, the Director of the Teacher Training Faculty at Whitespace and have completed Judith Lasater’s Advanced Restorative Therapeutics. Oh, and I’m also the Studio Owner of Whitespace Studio.

The special quality I bring to Whitespace…
Keeping my classes spacious, intuitive and inclusive, and always with a sense of lightness and humour (yoga and laughing are not mutually exclusive!). Expect funky playlists and right now, bright red hair!

My favourite thing about working at Whitespace…
EVERYTHING! The team who are incredibly passionate about what they do, the students who inspire me every day, the energy and the upbeat community that’s going on here…and I get to wear stretchy pants with no shoes every day!

What’s your favourite pose and why?
Tricky, I think it’s juicy hip openers, oh actually it’s inversions! No it’s hip openers……don’t make me choose!

The biggest thing Yoga has taught you?
Radical self-acceptance and compassion

A fun fact about me…
I have a habit of jumping out of planes for fun!
