Who’s it for?
No previous yoga, pilates or studio experience is required! This is an introductory class specially designed for someone trying yoga for the first time. You will not be required to stand on your head, chant or wear Lycra yoga pants!
Wear comfortable loose clothing and bring your own water bottle if you like.

In this practical course – designed for students with little or no experience of pilates – you will be introduced to some of the fundamental principles, concentrating on healthy alignment and establishing a deeper awareness of your breathing. Pilates works the deeper muscles in a focused manner strengthening core postural muscles and developing correct body alignment. This stabilises the spine and supports the back.

The 4-week Introduction to Ashtanga course introduces the basic techniques and principles of Ashtanga Yoga, a series of classical poses linked by vinyasa (movement between yoga poses), coordinating breath with movement. This dynamic form of yoga is renowned for its ability to detoxify and strengthen while encouraging flexibility and bringing balance to the mind and body.
