All of our yoga classes are based on Hatha Yoga principles - the most commonly practised style of yoga in the West. Hatha Yoga aims to balance the mind and body with the exploration of physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation.
We open each class with a short meditation, fill it full of glorious postures to overhaul the body and close it with a deep and beautiful relaxation. The practice is energising and intuitive, helping to tone and strengthen the body while cultivating awareness - calming and focusing the mind. It's "The ultimate Yoga experience” offering a full mind, body and soul work out.
We offer many styles of hatha yoga - each bringing a different emphasis, such as focusing on strict alignment of the body, coordination of breath and movement, holding the postures, or the flow from one posture to another. All of the styles share a common lineage. No style is better than another; it's simply a matter of personal preference. More important than any style is the student-teacher relationship. We encourage you to try a few classes and decide which class works best for you.

Ashtanga self practice classes are suitable for students of all levels including complete beginners. A powerful and dynamic style, some people describe it as being 'a private session in a group environment'. The self practice session allows the student to work at their own pace whilst receiving individual physical adjustments and personal attention from the teacher. Students can come at any time during the session. Length of practice varies according to each student. |

| Yin Yoga |
the essence of Yin Yoga is surrender. To balance the heat-building, blood-pumping, strengthening "yang" side of a Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga practice, Yin focuses on the connective tissue that surrounds the joints and increase its elasticity. The elasticity of our connective tissue diminishes with physical activity and aging, which makes Yin essential for injury prevention and joint health. Since a Yin Yoga practice often includes several long, seated forward bending postures, it also restores energy and calms the nervous system. Pure bliss! |
