Mindfulness At Work

Mindfulness At Work

* Taken from a study with Transport for London, reducing absenteeism caused by stress by 71%.

What is Mindfulness?

Simply put, Mindfulness is training the brain to stay focused on the present moment with compassion. Since most of our stress comes from worrying about the past or future, focusing on the present gives our mind the chance to pause and think clearly.

Benefits

Toxic emotions disrupt the workplace, and mindfulness increases our awareness of these destructive patterns, helping us recognise them before they run rampant. It’s a way of reprogramming our mind to think in healthier, less stressful, ways.

Mindfulness also enables us to take a step back and consider alternative perspectives rather than simply reacting to events and using the least intelligent area of our brains to make decisions.

Over time with mindfulness, we learn to develop the inner resources that help us navigate through difficult, trying, and stressful situations with more ease, ultimately leading to greater focus, better creativity and healthier relationships.

Our Programmes

The mindfulness trainings we offer are built around a well-researched core of interventions. There have been thousands of scientific papers published that attest to the value of the basic eight week mindfulness training course. Taking that as our benchmark, we have crafted a range of trainings that fit into the world of work today. We offer different programmes to meet your business needs, either onsite or here at our quiet, beautiful studio tucked away in a courtyard in Stony Stratford – a great away day! Here is a list of our most popular events:

Taster Session

A tailor-made one-hour introduction to Mindfulness. As well as learning about the science and efficacy of Mindfulness, delegates experience practicing a Mindfulness technique. This is a great way to introduce people to Mindfulness – dispelling myths and giving attendees the information needed to decide if they would like to commit to one of our longer programmes

4-week programme

The training consists of 4 x 45 or 60 minute group sessions which can be taken on a weekly basis or flexibly over a longer or shorter period of time. Participants learn the basic techniques and science of Mindfulness with an experienced trainer, learning how to put Mindfulness to use in their daily life. Individuals normally attend once a week and practice the techniques daily for 10 mins with a CD. By the end of this course, the participants will have a good working knowledge of effective techniques that can give them better focus and the ability to self-regulate.

8-week programme

The full Mindfulness training experience (the industry benchmark of Mindfulness) consists of 24 hours of training which can be taken on a weekly basis or flexibly over a longer or shorter period of time. Participants learn the techniques and science of Mindfulness with an experienced trainer, learning how to put Mindfulness to use in their daily life. Individuals normally attend once a week, supported by a handbook and CD to practice daily. By the end of this course, the participants will have a good solid Mindfulness practice that can give them a competitive edge and enhanced wellbeing.

Mindfulness Immersion Course

A two-day course which gives a deeper dive into Mindfulness, enabling participants to learn the main practices of Mindfulness so that they can coach themselves and others to be more effective in both their work and home life.

Wellbeing at Work Half-Day or Full-Day

Tailor-made workshops where we explore wellbeing and the health behaviour changes for self-care and self-regulation. Attendees gain a fuller insight into Mindfulness and other wellbeing practices, the opportunity to experience these as well as resources with the ongoing support they need once they are out of the training room and back in the real world.

One to one mindfulness training

Busy people aren’t always able to attend regular course dates. Nonetheless we have had considerable success in working one-to-one with senior staff and leaders, helping them to find ways of incorporating different forms of regular mindfulness training into their busy lives. These sessions are developed and refined until the point where the client feels they have had sufficient training to keep the practice alive on their own.
