The 8wk Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the most recognised and established mindfulness course, taught all over the world, and is scientifically proven to help people cope better with daily stress, pain, depression and anxiety. This eight-week ‘Life Skills’ course held in Milton Keynes combines experiential mindfulness meditation practices with the latest tools and techniques of neuroscience, psychology and the study of well-being.
Our mindfulness course is designed to help you learn new ways of handling difficult physical sensations, feelings and moods. The core skill that you will learn is ‘mindfulness’; a way of paying attention, on purpose and non-judgmentally, to what goes on in the present moment in your body, mind, and the world around you. As the course progresses, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about recognising and responding to problems and difficulties, and bringing Mindfulness skills into daily life
Mindfulness can enable you to see things differently, undoing mental and physical knots and tensions. It can increase your sense of personal confidence, of having more options and more strength to face the different challenges in your life. Research shows that 85% of those completing a course continue to use mindfulness practices as part of their daily activities. And most people completing Mindfulness programmes report that they gain lasting benefits, such as:

What happens on an 8 Week Mindfulness Life Skills Course?
The weekly sessions will take place in a safe, relaxed and friendly setting – giving you space for your Mindfulness practice to unfold, and bringing kindness and a light heart to this process.
The course will include mindfulness meditation practices, gentle stretching and movement, group discussions, and home practice. The course starts with an introductory session, followed by eight, two-hour sessions. There’s also a full-day retreat which is a day of guided practices, a silent lunch, an afternoon of meditation and a lovely afternoon tea to conclude.
The sessions are very interactive and you’re provided with everything you need to take the practice home including a handbook and practice CDs. Please note that to gain the maximum benefit from the course; you’re encouraged to commit to home practice of around 45 minutes a day outside of the weekly sessions, using the handbook and CDs for guidance.
The 8 Week Mindfulness Life Skills Course gives you everything you need to gain a well rounded mindfulness practice of your own. If you find that you enjoy practicing as part of a group, we offer ongoing support with monthly drop-in sessions – helping you to ‘Stay Mindful‘ and share experiences with like-minded people.
This covers all the taught sessions, the silent retreat all-day session, a set of audio CDs to support home practice and a workbook.
Mindfulness Taster Session

About the teacher
Chris Jones is an experienced trainer and consultant in the areas of Mental Health and Wellbeing. She has had a personal mindfulness meditation practice for the last 10 years and trained as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher with Bangor University.
She follows the good practice guidelines laid down by the UK Mindfulness Network, which includes ongoing supervision and training at Oxford Mindfulness Centre and attending regular teaching retreats and also silent retreats. She leads a variety of workshops and courses nationally and is committed to sharing these life changing practices with a wide range of participants.
Tuesday courses will be held just down the road from Whitespace at Swinfen Harris Hall and is open to everyone – from complete beginners to experienced practitioners.
Sunday courses will be held at Whitespace studio.

Payments are not refundable, but are transferable to a future whitespace training, workshops or classes (less 10% admin fee).
30 days or less prior to the start date:
Payments are not refundable or transferable, unless your place can be filled from a waiting list (less 20% admin fee).
